Emergency services are responding after a pedestrian was struck by a car on State Highway 2 (Hutt Road) in Wellington this evening.
The crash was reported to Police at 6.25pm and occurred in the southbound lanes.
Traffic build-up is already significant and motorists are advised there will be extensive delays.
Police will provide information on the injury status of the pedestrian as soon as that information is available.
