State Highway 1 between Longbush and Kennington near Invercargill is closed following a truck hitting an electric power pole on the highway.
No injuries are reported, but ambulance services were called as a precaution.
The road will remain closed while contractors repair the electrical damage.
Motorists should expect delays.
